Lighting Retrofits

Lighting accounts for 20-25% of all electricity sold in the United States. Too often, organizations treat lighting as an expense rather than an opportunity for investment. As a PCG client, you will realize average rates of return on your investment of 33% or more. You can reduce your lighting electricity bill by more than 50% while maintaining or improving lighting quality.

For even the best T12 fluorescent lamps, the light output can degrade to as low as 78% of initial output at end of life. Newer, high-performance T8 lamps retain closer to 90% of their lumen output over their life, while HID lamps generally retain only about 70% of their initial output.

Overall, retrofits help you:

  • Maximize the efficiency of each light fixture
  • Improve light quality and reduce glare
  • Distribute light more evenly
  • Reduce fixture heat, lowering A/C costs
  • Reduce electric load
  • Be environmentally responsible

Hi Bay Applications

Fluorescent T5HO fixtures are rapidly replacing high pressure sodium and metal halide fixtures as the standard for warehouses, parking garages, distribution centers, aircraft hangers, and gymnasiums. Why? For one, a four lamp T5HO High bay fixture consumes only 234 watts and is a suitable replacement for a 400 watt Metal Halide fixture which consumes 455 watts. T5HO also provides illumination that more closely resembles natural light, more even light distribution, instant starts and restrikes, and cooler operating temperatures.

New Construction

Energy incentive programs are helping to fuel a surge of new interest in energy conservation. Federal energy legislation, concerns over fuel prices and energy-efficient building standards and rebates seem to be bolstering a new energy consciousness in the United States. Your new construction project can receive energy rebates if you implement high efficiency equipment or demand-reducing strategies that exceed standard code requirements.

PCG is an authorized national energy project sponsor for new and existing construction projects. As a project sponsor, PCG is responsible for managing all requirements and milestones for your utility incentives and is prepared to conduct the new construction rebate process acting as your utility project sponsor today!

Group Relamping

The process of group relamping consists of replacing the whole lighting system at a pre-determined time rather than replacing on an individual basis as they burn out. Each time one of your lamps burns out, you are faced with allocating time, resources, and money for the sole task of replacement. This means creating and submitting a work order, collecting materials (lamp, ladder, etc), and setting up for the actual replacement every time a burn out occurs.

Scheduled or group re-lamping optimizes labor costs. With group relamping the number of times this process occurs is dramatically reduced allowing you bottom line savings.

  • Specialty Lighting - Auditorium Cleaning Lights
Our crews arrive on-site with expertise, competence, and light-weight custom scaffolding to maintain auditorium cleaning lights and accomplish all your high needs.

  • Cold Cathode Lighting
PCG can reduce lighting expenses dramatically, often by more than 75%, by replacing incandescents and CFLs with CCFLs. CCFLs have a long life of up to 25,000 hours and are unaffected by on/off cycles. CCFL lamps flash, chase and dim.

  • Fiber Optic Lighting
Fiber optics can be used in your theater for step lighting, aisle lighting, star ceilings, seat lighting, and wall guides. Using EFO lamps you can save energy, save time and money on maintenance, and save your collectibles and artwork from harmful UV light. One 70 watt efficient fiber optics (EFO) lamp delivers the center beam candlepower of eight 50 watt MR16 lamps, replacing 400 watts! EFOs have a 14,000 hour lamp life and no UV effects.
  • LEDSLEDS
LEDS use multiple point sources of light to increase visual reflectivity and shine while reducing operating costs. Its reflector design focuses peak light to the center of an object or floor and radiates light out to eliminate shadows and lighting hot spots often found with fluorescent and halogen lighting. It creates a brighter, more uniform look throughout. Along with a long 50,000-hour rated life to reduce maintenance hassle and costs, new LED lighting's environmentally responsible design is not only energy efficient, but also RoHS compliant and doesn't contain lead, mercury or glass.

Controls and Sensors

Controls and sensors can save energy and reduce peak demand in your offices and other facilities. Controls save you money while providing user convenience and an improved lighting environment. There are several different kinds of controls. The choice of control type should be based on lighting usage patterns and the type of space served. We will assess your needs to determine the best type of sensors - occupancy sensors, time scheduling, or bi-level switching.
