The South Point Hotel and Casino saved energy
and business with a lighting upgrade from PCG
The South Point Hotel and Casino's Equestrian and Event Center in Las Vegas attracts people from all over the world to attend entertainment and sporting events. However, the numbers of complaints the arena was getting about the lighting was putting the venue at risk of losing business. Management at the hotel needed an upgrade that provided improved lighting quality, efficient lighting that didn't cost a lot of money, and a project schedule that didn't disrupt their business.They hired the PCG team to upgrade the lighting both in the arena and in the parking garage, delivering better lighting and big energy savings.
Project Scope
The PCG team replaced inefficient, dim metal halides in the event center with dual ballast dimming eight lamp T5 Hi-Bay fixtures, working around the clock and around the arena's busy schedule. They also replaced the metal halides in the parking garage with T8s, for better, more efficient lighting.
Results
- The event center lighting went from 12 foot candles to 60 foot candles
- Cut electric usage in the parking garage by 50%
