PCG helps Cinemark, USA reduce energy costs
and improve theatre appearance and safety
Cinemark has used PCG to retrofit over 100 theatres with lighting upgrades plus an additional 100 theatres addressing the auditorium cleaning lights, Icetron fixtures, ceiling tiles and other ceiling work. Our partnership has allowed us to assist during hurricane and hail disaster recovery as well as custom fiber optic design and installation.
Project Scopes and Results
Specialty Hard-to-Reach
Quarterly scheduling, single phone calls or emails are used as needed to dispatch our specialty crews to address auditorium cleaning light maintenance, disaster or storm relief and various theatre issues which are in hard-to-reach location within the units. The ongoing contract with Cinemark USA uses the highly skilled crews of PCG Worldwide to work on the auditorium cleaning lights where they address lamps, standard and emergency ballasts, wiring and sockets, ceiling tile removal or installation, t-bar ceiling repair, screen and drapery cleaning and other agreed upon work. Crews evaluate and address these issues at heights above 45 feet while working over sloped floors and stadium seating on a regular basis. Crew were especially effective in Gulfport, MS and Oklahoma City, OK as they helped Cinemark get their theatres back in working order after natural disasters struck both locations.
Energy Efficiency
60 theatres in Texas and 40 theatres in California have received lighting upgrade that have taken advantage of the current T8, CFL, CCFL and LED technologies of today. Rebates through the various TDSPs in Texas and the utilities of California have been captured by PCG as project sponsors for all of these utility services. The turnkey installation projects have allowed Cinemark to realize simple paybacks of less than one year for many of the units. PCG has also been able to capture significant rebates related to the HVAC upgrades in theatres through the State of Texas for the benefit of Cinemark, USA.
Custom Design
Modern fiber optic lighting was used in a high profile Dallas theatre to highlight the already dramatic features of this Cinemark, Studio Eats. Featured in LD&A after the successful installation, Cinemark continues to receive the savings benefit from this design today and for years in the future.
